About John Canetta

I Know What It's Like to Be the Bottleneck

I've owned five businesses over 30 years. Two failed. Two hit seven figures. One is still in progress. In every single one, the moment growth stalled, the diagnosis was the same: the business depended too much on me.

From the Numbers World to Firm Optimization

I started my career as an investment accountant at State Street Bank — working inside the financial systems that CPA firms serve every day. From there, I became a financial data mining analyst at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where I learned that every business problem has a data signature if you know where to look.

That analytical foundation shaped everything I do today. When I look at a firm, I don't see "coaching opportunities." I see data: where time goes, where cash leaks, where one structural change unlocks everything downstream.

I co-founded an eCommerce business and grew it to seven figures using data-driven decision-making. Over 16 years, I learned invaluable lessons in cash management and business growth — lessons that eventually led me to create Deliberate Achievement.

Why I Work with CPA Firm Owners

CPA firm owners are some of the most capable professionals I've met — and some of the most stuck.

You're technically excellent, deeply ethical, and running yourself into the ground because the firm has no systems beyond you.

The work I do isn't about teaching you accounting. It's about building the operational infrastructure that lets your expertise scale — so you stop trading hours for revenue and start building a practice that runs whether you're in the chair or not.

"You gave me my life back."
